When I read I have this little problem called neglecting my family..So, when I made my New Years goal to read more I also made a goal to only read at night when everyone is sleeping or during nap time. With Hunger Games I actually did pretty good. Even though I thought about it during the day and at night I couldn't put it down so I would stay up way to late. So worth it! I LOVED this book! Easy read and very addicting! Oh and if you don't like violence then this isn't the book for you.
I didn't do so well with the second book, Catching Fire. I think I liked this book more than the first. I couldn't put it down. I did not predict this book at all. There is a third book that hasn't come out yet and I can't wait! I still find myself thinking about the story and the characters. So good! Anyways, read it and love it.

We celebrated V-day a little later by getting a couples massage, watching a movie and a little cuddle time. Happy late Love Day! I LOVE... LOVE!

Lake Mead Adventures

On Presidents day my parents, sister and me and the kids went to Lake Mead. It was a beautiful day. But it doesn't matter if it's 70 just sitting there. When you are driving in a boat it's freezing. Hence all the warm clothes a blankets. It's kind of a tradition to go to the lake every year in the winter. We would always jump in and it would be freezing but it was fun. So, Jessica and I were going to keep the tradition alive but I forgot my swimsuit (and quite a bit of other things for that matter). Anyways the only person to get in was Ezra and he had a great time.

I had to add this picture just because I have basically grown up at the lake. I think the Lake is beautiful and this picture just reminds me of my child hood and my excitement I used to feel when we would drive down the ramp to load our boat in the water. I would be so excited because I knew we were at a place my whole family loved and we always had a good time! I have some of my best memories here :)My classic dad and Ezra picture. Our last stop was the Dam. I couldn't see where I was pointing the camera because it was so bright so this is the best pic I got. The bridge is almost done. It looks like there are only 5more sections to go.

Gettin big

My little man is now 18 months! It feels like yesterday that I was in the hospital watching the summer Olympics and adoring my new baby. I like to call him my little monster. It suits him well! He loves to climb on the table. When he is happy he likes to scream. He loves to throw anything he can pick up. Very picky eater but loves milk! Baths and playing outside would have to be his favorite things to do. He loves to help me cook and clean. He is Ezra's shadow. I don't think Ezra likes that so much but Lincoln just adores him. He is going on 2 1/2 weeks without the binky. YAY! I think he is finally over it. Now I just need to get him off the bottle. He can say mommy, daddy, nana, papa, hot, ball, no, uh oh and esa translation for Ezra. He still loves to cuddle. He gives the best slobbery kisses and can give you a good punch in the face. The other day he came up to me and just punched me right in the face. I was surprised by the power behind it! Then he laughed and ran away. What a boy :) When I told Aaron what happen he said Lincoln did that to him also! What a funny kid. Anyways, I love this kid. He is a such a sweet boy to have around. I LOVE you Lincoln! Oh and here are his stats...

Today I was playing with my two little rug rats and had one of "those" moments. You know the moments when your heart is filled with so much love you feel like it could burst! Yeah, today was that day. I LOVE my boys. All 3 of my boys :) but today I was especially in love with my kids. I was watching them and thinking how crazy it is that they are their own little person. With their own personalities and likes and dislikes. I just wanted to write down a few differences I see in them because I think they are very different from each other. And for some reason that fascinates me. Yes, it doesn't take a lot to do that!Ezra is not a climber, Lincoln IS!
Ezra was not a cuddly baby, Lincoln was and still is :)
Ezra loves cars, trucks, pretty much anything that has wheels. Lincoln likes any kind of ball. He likes throwing them and kicking them. A soccer ball would have to be his fav.
Ezra is very independent and has been from day one. Lincoln hasn't quite got there yet. Let's hope that doesn't happen for a while.
Ezra is good with change. He was easy to get off the bottle and binky. Lincoln not so much.
Bed time is easy for Lincoln and not for Ezra.
I love these kids more than I can say. I love how different they are but similar at the same time.
They have aged me, given me circles around my eyes, pretty much destroyed my stomach and are responsible for my hair thinning but I wouldn't have it any other way :) I love you boys!!

What to do

I don't have a husband tonight and the kids are asleep and the house is clean. Ha! No, I lie. The house is a mess but I will take care of that later :) So, blogging sounded fun but I have nothing to blog about. I was reading my buddy Melissa's blog and thought I would steal her idea that she stole from a friend. I'm original.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you've never done before? I hiked the Subway in Zion's. Took a couple pole dancing classes. (so fun) Went to the San Diego Zoo. Ran my first 10k. Not only did I become a soccer mom but I coached soccer for Ezra's team. Teaching 4 and 5 year olds is harder than you would think!

2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for next year? I'm sure if I made them I didn't keep them. This year is a new year and I did make a couple and I haven't given up yet. It's almost Feb. so, this is a new record!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Why yes, one of my BFFs did. Adrianne gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Lacy. I'm sorry but this picture makes me laugh every time I look at it :)

4. Did anyone close to you die? I went to a couple funerals but I wouldn't say I was close to them. My thoughts and prayers go out to their families.

5. What places did you visit? California and Utah.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? A tan. That's right, I was ghostly. My child has more color than I do!
7. What dates in 2009 will remain etched in your memory and why? Dec 25th. Why? I was happy to be surrounded by my family and was getting excited for a new year and new start.

8. What was your biggest achievement this year? Probably learning how to be a better mom. I know that doesn't seem like much but last semester Aaron was taking 6 classes and working over 60 hrs a week. So I felt kinda like a single parent but it was good for me. I felt like a I grew up a lot and became a better mother.

9. Did you suffer from illness or injury? No, we have been blessed with good health. I did have foot surgery but it wasn't a big deal.
10. What was the best thing you bought? A gym membership

11. Where did most your money go? What money... mo money mo problems.

12. What song will always remind you of 2009? Oh uh... music. Hmmm... let's see.

13. What do you wish you could have done more of? Travel

14. What do you wish you could have done less of? Less pity parties. Nobody likes a Debby Downer :)

15. What was your favorite TV program? GLEE and Biggest Loser

16. What was the best book you read this year? Hmmm... there were a few but my favorite would be Faith of our Fathers by N.C. Allen.

17.What was your favorite film of the year? Harry Potter of course! Even though the ending was very disappointing. No fight scene, come on! Oh man, I'm a nerd.
18. What did you do for your birthday and how old were you? I actually can't remember what I did for my bday. How sad is that but I did turn 25. You would think I turned 75 with this memory.

19. What political issue stirred you the most. To be completely honest, I really do NOT like politics.

20. Who was the best new person that you met? This one is tough! I don't think I really met anyone new but I maybe would have to say the Webster's and the Thomas's. I already knew who they were but I didn't know them. They were the one's who basically welcomed us into our new ward. Yeah, we have friends!
