I love Halloween

This year we had a lot of fun. We had our ward Trunk or Treat on Halloween so that was nice. When trying to figure out what costumes to wear this year, I wanted to have a theme so I figured I would ask Ezra what he wanted to be. He said the boogy man so I was trying to think of what Aaron, Lincoln and I could dress up as that would go along with the boogy man. The plan was to be the "classic costumes" for Halloween. So Ezra- boggy man, Me- witch, Aaron- ghost and Lincoln- pumpkin. I was all excited to go get costumes. When we got to the store Ezra saw Thomas the Train costume and had to have it. Then the night before Halloween Aaron thought it would be cool to be a 80's punk rocker and I couldn't find the pumpkin outfit Lincoln was supposed to wear. So needless to say there was no theme but it all worked out. Ezra got a ton of candy! I am going to have to work on my self control with all this candy in the house. Carving pumpkins

This last weekend Ezra and Aaron carved our pumpkin. Ezra loved every second of it! Everyday now he wants to go out front and look at it just to remind me how cool it is. Silly kid!

More updates

Since this is technically my journal, I need to write more about the kids and the stages they are in. So, this might be a boring post for most of you.

Ezra is the typical 3 year old boy. He is full of energy! Things that he likes are: Cars, trucks (especially Toyota trucks), going to the park, going to the lake, nana & papa, uncle Eric and Aunt Whitney (his favorite people), playing with friends, nursery, building towers with his blocks, drawing on sidewalks, playing in dirt, taking showers, playing games on the computer, reading books, stroller rides, hanging out with mom dad and baby Lincoln, going to Logandale, riding in the truck, eggs, black beans, milk. Those are just some of the things I can think of right now. Things he doesn't like: Eating dinner, clipping his nails, taking naps, time outs, going to bed.

He just amazes us everyday with the knowledge he has. He can name all the different vehicles on the road. Like Chevy, Ford, Honda. You can say he is slightly obsessed with cars. He also knows the different parts of the car like bumper, hitch, trunk, engine. Yeah, he is a little smarty. He also likes to test our patients. He is too smart for his own good!! But we love him and wouldn't want it any other way.

Lincoln is 11 weeks old! Holy moly time flies! He is smiling a lot and is trying to laugh but hasn't quite figured that out yet. He can hold his head up pretty good. He is still kind of a bobble head. He loves attention and to be held. He loves to eat! Yep, he is above average in weight, height and his head so he is going to be a big boy. His eyes are still on the light side. They almost look green. I am crossing my fingers for green! His average night sleep is 9 hours. I know, I know I am so lucky. Knock on wood. He is easy going. Ezra is pokin at him all day and he really doesn't care. He is pretty chill.

I love my kiddos! I am grateful to be there mommy!

I am selfish

Since being a mother I have realized a lot of things. One of them is, being a mother is a very selfless act. And with that said, I have realized I am a very selfish person!

I HATE...

that I don't fit into any of my clothes and I am determined not to buy any clothes while I am this size (which I will not mention)! So I decided to do Weight Watchers. I did Weight Watchers last summer and found it was pretty easy and I lost some weight. I like it because it's not really a diet. I have tried diets and have failed miserably. So starting today, I am officially on Weight Watchers. Whoop whoop! Go me!!

So I stole this tag off Adrianne's blog. I know that's totally lame but I had a moment tonight that made me fall in love all over again with Aaron. Tonight he got home from work and I had dinner ready so we sat down and ate as a family and had a good talk. Then we decided to go on a walk to the park so Ezra could play. Then came home and had some good ol family time. We kinda had a family home evening because Aaron is gone on Mondays. Anyways, I know that sounds like a typical night for some of you but since school started we haven't really had any good quality family time together. Just watching Aaron with the kids made me feel so lucky to have him forever! He is such a good dad and husband and I love him so much. So here are some things about him so you all can know how awesome he is!

1) Where did you meet: My friend Melissa was friends with his roommate Jesse which is also his best friend and we went to his house one night and met there. Nothing to exciting.

2) How long did you date before you were married: 6 months dating (with a 2 week break up in there somewhere) and a 4 month engagement.

3) How long have you been married: 4 awesome years! I can't believe how fast time goes by!

4) What is your favorite feature of his: Um that's hard but I will have to say he has amazing hazel eyes. Sometimes the way he looks at me makes me want to melt into his arms. Ahhhh

5) What is your favorite quality of his: He is very patient! Love him!

6) Does he have a nickname for you: haha yes! Noodle... it started off as a joke and then it just stuck.

7) What is his favorite food: Lasagna and chocolate chip cookies.

8) What is his favorite sport: College basketball... GO REBELS!!!

9) When and where was your first kiss: We were camping at Mt Charleston and there were 4 of us sleeping in the back of a truck so it was a little snug and well what better to do when you can't sleep... make out! Haha I should never let my kids read this.

10) What is your favorite thing to do as a couple: Ummm........ wink wink

11) Do you have any children: Oh yeah! 2 amazing little boys

12) Does he have a hidden talent: This is weird but he can a run a marathon without training! That's right, no training!

13) How old is he: OLD!!!! Hehe 29

14) Who said I love you first: I really can't remember. I think it was me.

15) What is his favorite kind of music: He likes it all! Back in the day he really like Pennywise and Rage against the machine. But anywho he really like the Motab now.

16) What do you admire most about him: Probably his testimony and his love to serve. He is amazing!

Soccer

I started soccer tonight. I haven't run that hard since before I was pregnant and let me tell you I won't be able to walk tomorrow. How sad!

The good, the bad and the ugly

Okay, I need some serious help! I am at a loss of what to do with Ezra. He does not listen! He straight up will not listen!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH! I might want to go crawl in a hole right now. So anyways, I know he is 3 and that is a big part of it but I feel like I have no control over him. He is so incredibly strong willed. I feel like I have tried everything. First we did time outs and that's pretty much a joke. He thinks its funny. Only every once in awhile does that work. Then we thought maybe a good pat on the behind will work and that makes things worse. I think he gets really mad when we spank him so he will do whatever he was doing just because you spanked him and then he'll yell at you. Oh my goodness right. We have taken every single toy in his room away. We will restrain him so he can't move and that worked for awhile but not so much anymore. We will tell him a punishment for what he is doing and he will seriously think about it and if he really wants to do it then he will and take the punishment. What kinda 3 year old does that! He is too smart for his own good. Does anyone know how to handle a extremely stubborn, strong willed little 3 year old.? Don't get me wrong I love the kid so much it's crazy and I don't want to sound like he is outta control. He just has a problem listening and mostly to me. Am I doing something wrong? Is this just a phase? Am I over thinking this? Are most 3 year olds like this and if so I am done having kids :) Do I need to call Nanny 911? Haha just kidding! It's definitely not that bad. Maybe I need to vent because tonight was a long night. I am up for any suggestions.

Lincoln is 2 months old

Holy cow, time flies! Our little man is 2 months today. He has added such a wonderful spirit in our home. I am so glad he is finally here. Some of the things he is doing now is, holding his head up... kinda. He is still a bobble head. He is smiling a lot and of course he won't do it when I get the camera out. He kinda laughed last night. You could tell he wanted to but could quite figure it out and he is starting to make a lot of noise. I think he likes the noises he makes because his eyes will get wide when he does. Oh man, he is a cutie. I love him like crazy!

Something New

Ezra has been in this stage where he just says the funnest or most random things. He has me laughing everyday! So I thought I should be writing this stuff down so I don't forget it. I will be putting it in the top right if you anyone wants to read it. You might get a good laugh!
