My favorite part of the day

Lately me and the boys have been going on walks in the evenings. I'm not going to lie, it's my favorite part of the day. Everyone is happy, no one is fighting, the boys open up and talk to me about whatever is on their mind. Honestly, I don't like to sugar coat things BUT the walks are that great:) The other day Ezra wanted to take the camera so we can remember what our walk looked like so we can always remember. I promise that was him not me.

Christmas Day

Christmas day was everything I thought it would be in Grenada... relaxing. Christmas morning was kind of weird at first knowing we weren't going to be with family but ended up being pretty great. Santa left boogie boards, some cool balls that bounce on water and some candy. After the boys inhaled as much as they could, we opened gifts. There wasn't much to open but the boys didn't mind. Hank got some books and cars, Lincoln got a alligator floaty and Ezra got scuba lessons. The favorite gift was the laptop nana and papa Rice gave the boys. They are spoiled! After gifts I made a big yummy breakfast. We even had bacon! We don't buy it very often because it cost so much. I tried to make it as good as my dads breakfast but it just wasn't the same. After a couple of hours and a nap we decided to go to the beach. How can you be on a tropical island and not go to the beach. We made a sandman, sand angels, went snorkeling, boogie boarded and relaxed. We kept the tradition alive and hide money around the house for the boys to find before they went to bed. They loved it! I honestly couldn't have asked for more. Christmas 2014 will be one we will never forget!

2014 review

Oh 2014... I have so many mixed emotions about you. You made me laugh, you made me cry. We had amazing highs and terrible lows. I think you made me grow more than any other year in my life. Or you came in a close second to 2005 when I became a mom. We started the year in a new country. Which was scary but so exciting all at the same time. I became a housekeeper and full-time mom and sometimes full time dad. Aaron finished his 1st year of medical school and is half way through the 2nd year. The kids started school in a foreign country and like a boss, made friends right away and made themselves at home. We traveled, discovered and played hard. Aaron and I couldn't just go through the emotions, we had to work hard at our relationship. Harder than we've ever had to before. I had to step up my mom game. It was mostly just me. Well, Aaron helped when he could and actually helped a lot more than I ever thought he would during school. Meaning I didn't have my parents to drop the kids off to when I was overwhelmed or to just hang out at their house and eat their food:) or my bffs to hang out with whenever I needed a good laugh or multiple people around to watch my kids whenever so Aaron and I could go on a date. BUT with all the hard and frustrating moments we've had amazing and beautiful moments. I will forever cherish this last year and our time in Grenada. We've met some of the best people in the world. I'm so grateful for the friendships I've made. Friendships the kids made and the friendships we've made as a couple. Seriously, I love love love some of the women and families I've met here. It's a beautiful thing when people are all going through the same thing and can relate on so many levels. We all moved away from our country, families, friends, comfort zone. Honestly, one of my favorite things about this experience is all the people I've met and friendships I've made. 2014 thank you for growth, health, friendship, experience, craziness and love!

Christmas Eve

This was the 1st Christmas break Aaron and I have been away from family. There were times we wondered if we made the right decision to stay here. Luckily, we have made friends with a pretty amazing group of people. While we missed our family we had a great time here and all in all I am happy that we stayed. On Christmas eve a group of people were heading to a beach called La Sagesse. We don't go there very often because it's about 30 mins away but it's one of our favorites. So, we packed our lunch and headed out. You can rent boogie boards and kayaks for cheap and there are waves to play in. The kids loved it. The day started overcast and a little rainy but ended with sunshine. It was a great way to spend Christmas eve.
