When Aaron and I got our tax return back, we decided to take a little vacation with some of that money. We could have used that money on a whole bunch of other things but decided a vacation was more important. You know, for our mental health:) Can I just say, I am sooooo happy we did it! We wanted to go somewhere we've never been and we didn't want to spend a fortune. So, after lots of searching we decided to go to the Northwest. We flew into Portland Thursday night played in Portland Friday . Spent Saturday at Cannon Beach. Woke up Sunday drove to Seattle and drove back to Portland late Monday night. Played some more in Portland on Tuesday then flew out that night. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! I loved both cities but I fell in love with Portland! I want to live there someday. People in Portland are so nice and friendly. It's very laid back.My kinda place. I even hugged some trees there:)
We went to a place called the waffle window. It's a window on the side of a building you order waffles from. Soooooo yummy.
We hiked Multnomah Falls. You can just go to that bridge, which is a nice easy walk then you can go to the top. We went to the top and it was worth it. Beautiful!

We checked out the Portland temple.
Cannon Beach was perfect. A little cold when we first got there but the sun came out. We took a nap on the beach. Rented these cool little bikes and walked around the cute little town. Perfect day.
In Seattle we went to Pikes Place. LOVE IT!

Before we left Seattle we decided to go to a Marniers game. So glad we went and I'm not a huge baseball fan but it was good times. A little nippy but fun. They played the Texas rangers.
Our last day in Portland it was down pouring! So we were limited on what to do. We slept in until we had to check out. We went and got pedicures. That was my birthday gift to Aaron. It was his 1st time and he loved it! I forgot to take pictures dangit! And we went to this placed called the Grilled Cheese Grill. You eat in a bus. It was awesome. The food was delish!
Aaron ordered a hamburger where the buns were grilled cheese sandwiches. YUM!
It was so nice to be alone with Aaron! It's been so long since we had time all to ourselves. Love you Aaron!
Aaron and I really want the kids to know why it's important to remember all those who have sacrificed their life for our country and freedoms. So, Monday morning we talked about why that day was special and we discussed as much as you can with a 6 and 3 year old. I was surprised how interested they were and how much they already knew. We went out to Boulder City to the Veterans Cemetery. We got there a little late so they were already picking up the flags but we still got a few pictures.
We also went to see the Bellagio fountains. One song that played was Proud to be an American. It was nice to be there on Memorial Day hearing that song. I felt patriotic:) Ezra loved it. Lincoln not so much.
